NFC: Near Field Communication. This is going to be the buzz word in the coming years as it makes it's way to be the only thing you'd be carrying.

This has massive benefits and has endless technology applications you can’t imagine even. – Your cell becomes your credit card. Know how?

Courtesy: thinkDigit.com and engadget.com

NFC abbv. for Near Field Communication.

With a NFC enabled gadget/ Smartphone – When you bring two NFC enabled gadgets close the data can be transferred – Data does not only include the files. It includes – electronic payments – reservation numbers – such similar single use data which have to be placed to avail a benefit. This data can be credit card information, coupons, ticket and more of these sensitive data.

NFC is based on the RFID technology – that is Radio Frequency Identification – We all use the RFID unknowingly. The prevalent example being Master Card -There’s a RFID chip installed on your credit card that, when tapped on the payment station, will complete your purchase. NFC is a similar technology but implemented from mobile phones.

For a NFC to work you need – the required hardware + the software to operate that.

How will it be handy?

You get rid of the credit card and debit card – You get the pin in your NFC mobile and then download the app required – what you can do now is when you move out of the store you just need to wave you NFC phone near the NFC-enabled cash register and your transaction is reflected. NFC phones have that antenna and the device required. But this app wouldn’t do a thing if the phone does not have an NFC chip already built-in. – the phone becomes you Credit Card.

This can even be used to read data from something you find randomly: you could tap your phone on the reader tag in a movie poster and it would begin playing the movie trailer, provide theater times, locations, and so on.

You can just wave your phone at the security gate’s authentications point and you can confirm your flight and seat at the airport.

Similarly you can use the NFC ticket which can be used to unlock the pay-per-car.

You can unlock the hotel rooms which are either reserved or are card locked.

It has massive benefits and has endless technology applications you can’t imagine even.

How is this different from Bluetooth?

Bluetooth is just a way to send data and this is a faster way to send sensitive data.

Status as of now.

This tech has been around for several years, and the only place it’s found real success to date is in Japan. This could not become prominent because this is said to be ahead of time. At present the world does not needs a technology like this but steps are been taken by Samsung, Google, Nokia and Blackberry to implement this in the new mobiles. Some companies are offering it on order.

Glitchy tribulations.

Hardware or software can cause your phone to crash, and at one time or another we’ve all probably experienced a panic attack as our battery dies.

The other problem that will pop up is – Security. Since we’d be using this tech to handle wireless payments and transactions involving highly sensitive data; which is all the more vulnerable to threats.

If Aakash tab was a trailer then Ubislate7+ (aka Aakash 2) is the gadget you can look for at Rs. 3000.

Would you go for Aakash or Ubilsate 7+? By paying $10 more you get a Tablet-cum-phone. Well this is the Ubislate 7+: Another Android at a low cost @ $57 (2,999.00 INR).

If you know what Aakash tablet is and you desire to buy that and are waiting in the queue, among the 14lakhs orders which were placed in first 15days of online sale. Where Datawind promises to deliver it within seven days. Is it possible?

But hold on before you order that, read this. By spending $10 more you get the Tablet-cum-Phone – the UBISLATE 7+ (a.k.a Aakash 2).

Ubislate7+ is the upgraded version of the Aaskash Tablet (also the known as the Ubislate). What’s so different about the Ubislate7+? Know then below:

2.3 Android OS – an upgrade from 2.2 of Aakash.

It has both the features – GPRS and Wi-fi. That means that you can have access to the net through the GPRS system with out the wires/dongles.

The Wi-fi system is expected to be much faster as compared to the tech situation in India.

The Ubislate 7+ will also have the functionality of a mobile phone which was one of the biggest draw back as compared to the Aakash. You can now make calls.

From the 366MHz processor of the Aakash the Ubislate7+ has the 700 MHz processor and that will apparently be ‘three times better’ than the original Aakash.

Ubislate7+ also has 3200 mAh battery which is expected to give a battery back up of 5 hours as compared 2100 mAh battery of the Aakash a back up of mere 3 hours.

It also commits a Graphics Processor and HD video processor for us to enjoy the HD playback of videos.

It also comes with a headphone/mic + integrated speaker.

Well, I guess those are just enough for a tech-packed handy gadget at just 2,999 INR.

Pricing and Order:

Ubislate7+ has been priced at $57 (approx 3000 INR) which is just $10 more than the previous version.
Though this is not in the market, you can pre-order. The pre-order started last month and the product is ready to be out now, by the end of January’12.

Want to spec check Samsung Galaxy Note, Nokia Lumia, Andriod Phones?

Status Now:

Aakash (the previous one) was sold out when it was released back in 2011 but when the online sale began it bagged an order of 14laks tablets. The pre-order status as of now for Ubislate7 and Ubislate7+ :

Valentine’s Day is celebrated on 14th February every year in the memory of St Valentine, who is better recognized as the patron saint of all the lovers. It is a day on which lovers express their feeling through greeting cards, presents, chocolates etc. We all want this day to be special; therefore we need to plan it in a special way.

Most popular ways of celebrating Valentine’s Day are:

Romantic Date: Go out and woo your love by arranging a romantic date with your lover. On this day we can easily find parks, restaurants, discotheques all filled up with lovers holding hands and expressing love. Many have asked me 'how-to-get-rid-of-timeline'. A pretty research made Fourdy get the code..

With Google’s search box flooded with Disabling Timeline, people not getting a way to get rid of the Timeline, introduced by Facebook earlier this year.
All set to remove it? Read this exclusive post on Fourdy Wlog.

Though it seems awkward to blog about deactivating after blogging about how to activate it; but many have asked me ‘how-to-get-rid-of-timeline‘. A pretty research made me get the code.

To Quote a facebook developer when asked about this:

Once you click “Get Timeline,” you will have seven days to review everything that appears on your timeline before anyone else can see it.

If you choose, you can publish your timeline right away. If you decide to wait, your timeline will go live automatically after seven days. Your timeline will replace your profile.

Eventually everyone on Facebook will be rolled over to timeline.

And Fourdy says : Not Everyone

For all the Firefox users:

Open Mozilla Firefox.

Click on Tools Menu and the on Add-ons OR Press Ctrl+Shift+A

Once you get the add-on click on install.

After the Add-on is installed, restart firefox.

Then go to “Tools > User Agent > Internet Explorer > 7 (Seven)”

1st January is the day that marks the time of the beginning of a new year, different cultures celebrate this day in their own way. However the idea behind celebrating this day is same, i.e. being joyful and cheerful in order to carry forward the same throughout the year. Past always remains as history, and no matter how much important the precious year holds for us we all would like to move ahead cheerfully.

Surprisingly, yet again we have come to the end of another year. Now that, we are slowly approaching towards the end of 2011, we realize the accomplishments, failure, happiness and grievances during the year. It seems that the year went by pretty fast.

So, that we are now heading towards a new year, we must be having some new plans, aspirations and dreams as well. Things that we could not achieve in the past, things that we always wanted to achieve, something new, something out of the box. Some great person once said, “If you want your dreams to come true, you need to wake up.”

We all have dreams regarding something or the other; a future position, a future goal that we’d like to achieve. It’s important to be realistic while aiming what we would like to achieve and at the same time its important to plan and execute the same. As we all know that, “It’s a good idea to implement a good idea.” On this note let us all unite in making this New Year a prosperous one, through spreading happiness and love. May this New Year bring many opportunities to your way, to explore every joy of life & may your resolutions for the days ahead stay firm, turning all your dreams into reality and all your efforts into great achievements. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones.

Over the years you might have seen the changes in Facebook profile looks.

But have you seen them all?

Once upon a time…

the facebook started in 2005 as ‘thefacebook’ with ONE user!

With a better wall page and the info page…

in 2006 ‘thefacebook’ became the ‘facebook’ crossing 12 Million users.

With more tabs Zuckerberg Inc provided facebook 2007 to its 50m users…

with 2008 facebook brought Publisher (Status) and Wall filters which attracted 50m more and taking the scale to 100millions…

In 2009… touching 350 Millions was a simple update…

Row head and tag visibility in 2010 crossed 500m…

the ultimate.. when facebook went down the line with timeline… in 2011 with 800m users and still counting!
